We are able to host celebrations for up to 400 guests, with an array of unique locations and dining options available.

Ceremonies

Wedding ceremonies are traditionally held in two outdoor locations. The Grand Hotel Front Porch — the longest in the world — is lined with red geraniums, our signature flower. From this one-of-a-kind vantage point, take in views of the Straits of Mackinac, Mackinac Bridge, and the hotel gardens below.

A second location, the Grand Hotel Tea Garden, sits amidst the meticulously manicured flower gardens with panoramic views looking up at the hotel.

Please know that both of these locations are weather permitting and indoor locations are also provided when needed.

Cocktail Receptions & Luncheon/Dinner Events

Five formal, private dining rooms are available for your reception, three of which feature dance floors. Each room is different and provides distinctive décor and amenities.

Here, luncheons and dinners are multiple-course, plated meals with personalized options. Grand Hotel also offers casual or off-site dining venues — The Pool Lawn, The Gate House, Woods Restaurant, and The Jockey Club at The Grand Stand — all perfect for your rehearsal dinner or smaller wedding party.

In addition, Grand Hotel’s skilled pastry chef is flexible and creative and can help design a beautiful wedding cake or desserts for your special day. Or you may consider the traditional Grand Pecan Ball with Mackinac Island Fudge Sauce, another tradition of Grand Hotel.

Pamper and prepare your wedding party at Astor’s Salon and Spa, our full-service Aveda Salon. Step back in time at historic Fort Mackinac and a horse-drawn carriage tour. And keep your guests engaged with everything from 18 holes of golf on The Jewel, to over 70 miles of paved and unpaved trails to explore on bikes or by foot.

Transportation

Have you always dreamed of a fairy tale wedding? Here on Mackinac Island (where cars are not allowed), transportation is primarily by horse-drawn carriage. We recommend reserving the Grand Hotel Omnibus or Victoria Carriage for your wedding day transportation — and a truly enchanting experience.

Dress Guide

Since every evening at Grand Hotel is a special occasion, after 6:30 PM dresses, skirts, blouses, dress sweaters and dress slacks for ladies are preferred, while gentlemen are required to wear a suit coat, necktie, and dress pants.
