    Grand Family Fun Itinerary

With the extensive array of activities and attractions available at Grand Hotel and Mackinac Island, our family-friendly hotel is the perfect place to keep everyone entertained during your vacation.

Morning

This Mackinac Island itinerary sees you waking up with the sunrise and heading down for breakfast in the Main Dining Room. Kids will be delighted by the options on the breakfast buffet, while mom and dad can enjoy more adult options like our Brioche French Toast or Smoked Norwegian Salmon.

After breakfast, stroll over to the Esther Williams Swimming Pool and spend the morning soaking up the sun. With free snow cones and two whirlpools, everyone will be happy. If the kids get hungry, there are snacks, sandwiches, and beverages available at the Pool Grill.

Rent bicycles at the Pool House and ride over to Fort Mackinac. Have fun and learn with interactive historical reenactments of life on the island during Colonial times. Enjoy a scenic lunch at the Fort Mackinac Tea Room and take in some of the most exceptional views of downtown Mackinac and the harbor.

Afternoon

More energy to spare? Ride around the entirety of Mackinac Island and see the famous landmarks like Arch Rock and British Landing. Swim in the pristine waters of Lake Huron or just skip rocks and take in all the beauty the Island has to offer.

Head back to the hotel and grab a well-deserved treat from Sadie’s Ice Cream Parlor. Enjoy a scoop or two of Michigan’s own Guernsey Farms Dairy Ice Cream, sundaes, waffle cones, and shakes.

Evening

Get cleaned up for dinner and have a seat in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Grand Hotel’s photographers can take a portrait to remember your grand family vacation.

For dinner, let the kids experience fine dining and practice their manners with our waitstaff in the Main Dining Room. Kids’ meals and a full kids’ dinner buffet is available. Mom and dad will enjoy delicious entrees such as our Beef Wellington or Massey Fishery Whitefish.

After dinner, give the kids a dance lesson in the Terrace Room with the Grand Hotel Orchestra. With a nice mix of jazz standards and popular music, you’ll all be dancing the night away.
